Shred those inefficient cars

If you are in a neck deep hole the first thing you will instinctively realize is that you need to stop digging. The auto industry in the US appears to be in a neck deep hole - People cannot afford to pay for both, the inefficient car and the gas that it will guzzle. If you expect to sell cars in the US you need to make them smaller, cheaper and gas efficient. Many cars made in the US will end being shredded before they will be sold. That's what happens when consumers change their attitude towards car buying due to oil chrisis and the auto industry neither anticipates it nor reacts to is soon enough. As a result, they continued to manufacture cars that will be shredded. They were in a neck deep hole and they continued to dig - caught with their pants down. If you have no idea what I am talking about just walk into your favorite dealer and watch how many care are being totally ignored, overlooked and lonely - no one bothers to look at them, that is if people show up there.

The Future cars (Recommnedations)

  1. Must be light and affordable

  2. Must be hybrid that use E85 fuel

  3. Must have a solar panel on top

  4. Must have a plug-in cable

  5. Must have modular sub systems

  6. The battery must Standardized

Most Americans can no longer afford to buy a full size car. The will be looking to buy the cars that offers most of the options above. Affordable - if they cannot afford it they will not buy it. Hybrid makes a lot of sense and the fuel would be preferred to be E85 (Ethanol). Most cars are parked under the Sun long enough to expect the car to utilize that energy source. Many cars that are parked in a garage could use a standard 110V plug connected to the car. It would be very helpful to design the cars with removable subsystem for power,  battery, etc... The battery must be affordable, easy to replace and a standard that is after market friendly. Any manufacturer that combines all of the above will be a winner. Giving up these features will make the car less desirable or competitive.

Could GM have killed the EV1?

GM built the EV1 then they shredded them all without giving the public any explanation.

If GM Indeed Killed EV1

If GM indeed killed EV1 then I for one, would never again buy a GM car even if GM
were the auto manufacturing in the world.
